We have a long way to go today. We have to get to Tengboche from Thukla via the Pheriche valley. Our initial plan was to take the high path to Phortse but it got so windy that we had to abandon that plan and head down to Tengboche. Later, we realised that there was a weather situation building up that caused a 2 day flight cancellation at Lukla, high winds through the day where we were and snowstorm at Gorakshep.
Descending into the Pheriche valley. Pheriche is situated at a height of 4371 meters, 600 meters lowers than Lobuche. Its proximity to the Tsola river and being in a windy valley makes Pheriche a particularly cold place.
On the way up to Lobuche, we walked on the balcony, a route that runs parallel to this route but higher. The route is to the right of this pic on the hill.

The balcony. The horizontal path visible on the opposite mountain is the path from Dingboche to Lobuche. It is faster to walk on the balcony than in the Pheriche valley
