Everest Base Camp Trek: Tengboche to Dingboche

Day 5

kiran chakravadhanula kiranc Everest Base Camp Trek: Tengboche to Dingboche Hot noodle soup for breakfast. We ended up having Hot noodle soup for pretty much breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is something we can relate to and the hot soup and spice tastes great in the cold weather.

kiran chakravadhanula kiranc Everest Base Camp Trek: Tengboche to Dingboche Ice had formed on our hotel room window. The night time temperature inside the room was -5C. The rooms are not heated so it gets very cold at night. Breathing the cold air makes things worse. Some covering over the face is absolutely essential. I brought along a woolen Indian Army balaclava and that proved to be the most essential piece of gear for the entire trip after the sleeping bag and down jacket. When worn, the exhaled breath warms the wool which in turn warms the air one is inhaling. I can\'t stress enough enough about how essential the balaclava was (also called a monkey cap in India, but a more closed fit revealing a small area above the nose around the eyes). I used the balaclava night and day.

kiran chakravadhanula kiranc Everest Base Camp Trek: Tengboche to Dingboche We stop for rest. This image had blown highlights so I added a warming filter and a soft focus filter. I used my point and shoot to take some pictures. Some of the pictures didn\'t come out good although they looked great on the screen.
